Desire Discrepancy

As part of one of my many book clubs, I read Desire: An Inclusive Guide to Navigating Libido Differences in Relationships by Lauren Fogel Mersy and Jennifer A. Vencill with a group of sex therapists. While we all found that it did not bring any new information to us, we all agreed that it would be a good book for our clients to read. Fair warning that it is a little dense, but it is full of great information. My favorite part was contrasting the Sexual Staircase with The Wheel Model adapted from Richard Fancoeur’s work.

Sex is not a goal-oriented activity. It’s supposed to be fun and pleasurable. You can start anywhere on the wheel. Have a great time.
