LGBTQ+ Elders

My pal, Jane Fleishman, interviewed several LGBTQ+ elders and put their stories into her book The Stonewall Generation. While two of the interviewees were actually present at Stonewall on the night of the raid, the others shared their stories of advocacy, resilience and community. While so much of Pride month has now become a corporate event, it was refreshing to hear its origins and the hard work towards equality over the last 55 years. The book gave me both marching orders to continue the work and a sense of hope at how far we have come.
